Starborn's Clip&Rip Universal Hidden Deck Clip speeds up grooved decking installation with a one-pass fastening method: insert the clip strip into the board groove, drive the screw, snap off the used clips, and slide the next board into place — no separate spacing tool, no repositioning, and no additional tools required beyond a standard drill. Compression tabs on each clip bite down into the joist as the screw sets, keeping the clip level so the next board slides on cleanly.
This version is preloaded with grade 316 marine-grade stainless steel screws, offering superior corrosion resistance over the standard 305 stainless option — the recommended choice for coastal environments, saltwater exposure, or ACQ and pressure-treated lumber where corrosion is a greater concern. Clips come pre-assembled on collated strips of 16, enough to fasten a full 20-foot board with a single strip, and the system creates a consistent 3/16" gap between boards automatically. Compatible with most major grooved composite, PVC, and hardwood decking brands, including Trex, TimberTech/AZEK, Fiberon, Deckorators, MoistureShield, and Wolf. A T-15 driver bit is included. Dedicated Starter Clips (sold separately, 305 stainless only) handle the first and last boards for a clean, consistent finish across the whole deck. Available in 192-count (approx. 100 sq ft) and 800-count (approx. 425 sq ft) packs; do not use with an impact driver. Covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
