Starborn Cap-Tor XD 316 Stainless Steel Screws deliver a clean, color-matched finish for Trex composite decking, with a coated head designed to blend with Trex's board colors rather than standing out as a visible fastener. Cap-Tor XD is a universal screw approved for use across all major decking brands — including Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon, and AZEK — making it a practical choice for mixed-material projects or when an exact OEM screw isn't available.
This version is built from 316 marine-grade stainless steel, offering superior corrosion resistance over the standard 305 stainless option — the recommended choice for coastal environments, saltwater exposure, or other high-corrosion conditions. An undercut head design cuts cleanly through the hard outer capstock layer instead of tearing or displacing it, while transverse reverse threads under the head eliminate the "mushrooming" effect that standard deck screws can cause on composite boards. An extra-deep T-20 star drive recess minimizes wobble when starting the screw, and a Type 17 auger point speeds insertion while helping prevent splitting. These #10 x 2-1/2" screws are available in 23 colors to match a wide range of Trex board colors — use Starborn's Deck Matcher tool to find your exact match. Approved for use in ACQ and other pressure-treated lumber. Sold in 350-count and 1,750-count box sizes.
