The Simpson Strong-Tie Avant Collection Post Base combines structural performance with a refined, decorative finish for outdoor living structures like pergolas, patio covers, and other top-supported builds. Built from ZMAX galvanized steel with a black powder-coat finish, the Avant base secures a wood post or column to concrete, brick, or wood while resisting corrosion in exterior and treated-wood applications. A 1-inch standoff lifts the post end above the surface to prevent contact with standing water and ground moisture, extending the life of the post. The base is slotted for adjustability during installation and engineered to meet stringent building codes for seismic and high-wind conditions. Available for nominal and rough-cut 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, and 10x10 post sizes, with matching Avant decorative side plates sold separately for a fully finished look.
