The Simpson Strong-Tie Sage-Shade Sunshade is the finishing touch for a Sage System pergola, transforming an open beam structure into functional backyard shade in a single afternoon. Made from heavy-duty HDPE knitted fabric, it blocks direct sunlight and UV exposure, creating a cooler, more comfortable outdoor space without the cost or complexity of a solid roof.
Sized to fit specific pergola dimensions, the sunshade attaches with included mounting brackets and heavy-duty straps that pull it tight and flat across the frame rather than leaving it loose or sagging. Everything needed ships in the box, including color-matched SD10112DBB Outdoor Accents connector screws also used throughout the rest of the system — 18 screws with the 8' x 8' size, 26 with the 10' x 10' — so hardware stays consistent across the whole structure. It's designed to come down easily for seasonal storage, letting the pergola stand open through winter or high-wind periods.
