The Simpson Strong-Tie Sage-B Post Base anchors pergola and outdoor structure posts to existing concrete, completing the Sage System's connection from footing to overhead beam with matching hardware and finish. Tested and code-listed for structural applications, it's built to carry real load while presenting the same clean, decorative black look as the Sage corner and T connectors used higher up in the structure.
Outside flanges give the base installation flexibility — it can be attached to the concrete either before or after the post and pergola assembly are in place, accommodating different build sequences on site. A built-in 1" standoff elevates the post end above the concrete surface, helping prevent the wood rot that develops when a post base sits flush against a moisture-holding slab. Constructed from 12-gauge (14-gauge on 4x4) ZMAX galvanized steel with a black powder-coat finish, the base resists corrosion and weathering for long-term outdoor durability. Each kit includes Outdoor Accents color-matched connector screws for attaching to the post (no pre-drilling required) and Titen Turbo concrete and masonry screw anchors for securing to the slab (pre-drilling required for the anchors). Available for nominal 4x4 and 6x6 posts, sold in 2-packs, rated for use with treated lumber.
