The CAMO WedgeMetal Clip is a hidden deck fastener purpose-built for installing grooved wood, composite, and PVC decking on metal joists — a common gap in the hidden-fastener market, since most clip systems are designed for wood framing only. Compatible with any 14-18 gauge steel framing, including Fortress Evolution and New Castle Steel, WedgeMetal gives builders working with metal substructure the same clean, screw-free deck surface that wood-frame installers get from CAMO's other clip systems, without needing to switch to a different fastening approach.
Installation is a genuine one-pass process: the clip sits in the board groove and stays in place until you're ready to fasten, requiring no partial pre-installation step. A 410 stainless steel drill-point screw augers directly through 14-18 gauge steel or aluminum with no pre-drilling, while a 305 stainless steel gusset provides the holding strength that keeps boards secure against movement while still allowing for natural seasonal expansion and contraction. The nylon plastic spacer body automatically sets a consistent 3/16" gap between every board for proper drainage and airflow, and a T-15 star drive on the screw head reduces cam-out during installation — use a standard drill rather than an impact driver. Every box includes the included CAMO Never-Miss Guide, which helps align the T-15 bit to the exposed screw head for faster, more accurate driving, and the clip works with CAMO's ClipDRIVE and DRIVE stand-up tools for even faster installation on larger jobs. WedgeMetal is designed and warranted for use with leading grooved decking brands, including Trex, TimberTech by AZEK, Fiberon, MoistureShield, and Deckorators. Available in 90-count (50 sq ft) and 450-count (250 sq ft) boxes; not recommended for aluminum joists.
